Volunteer Opportunity Details
Description of Duties: -Engage youth who come to the NorWest Youth Hub
- Support staff at Youth Hub to provide after-school learning support for Grades 10-12
- Subjects include Pre-calculus, Applied Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English (or a few of the subjects)
- Demonstrate study skills and time management techniques
- Assist in essay outlining, writing and editing
Skills Required: - Strong experience in time management skills and study techniques
- Knowledgeable in essay writing Grades 10-12; APA, MLA reference styles and / or in the sciences and math subjects
Skills Gained/Related Careers: - social services
- teaching and academic experience
- one-to-one tutoring
Age: 18-30, 31-54, 55+
Time Commitment: Daytime
One - two weekdays from 2:30 - 6:30 or a portion of that time
