Organizational Description: WBYO is a drop-in recreational & life skills program for youth aged 4-12 in the West Broadway area & beyond. We provide year round, free after-school & summer programming in a safe, fun and nurturing environment.

WBYO ensures that local children have opportunities to learn and grow in an atmosphere where their basic emotional, social and educational needs are met and supported by positive role models.
Volunteer Opportunity Details
Description of Duties: The treasurer position is responsible for financial oversight of WBYO. Responsibilities include financial planning and budgeting, monitoring the use of grants, reviewing the book keeping function, and approving disbursements. The Treasurer is responsible for providing a report on the current financial position of the organization at each board meeting. The ideal candidate needs to have some availability during the work day to respond questions from the WBYO staff. For more information visit www.westbroadwayyouthoutreach.com
Skills Required: Previous experience with requirements listed above is a must. Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Must be able to attend Board meeting every 3rd Tuesday evening of the month, usually
6-8pm.
Skills Gained/Related Careers: Gain experience on a non-profit board for a children and youth serving organization that does great work in Winnipeg's disadvantaged communities.

Time Commitment: Evening
Monthly board meetings in the evening. Other program/fundraising volunteer opportunities available during the daytime and weekends.
