Organizational Description: If you want to join a devoted team of vibrant, fun-loving film enthusiasts, please consider joining the GFF team as we set out to transform the way people see the world through film!

As a charitable, not-for-profit, cultural organization, GFF has always depended on the generosity of our diverse team of volunteers. We are grateful for the considerable contributions made by our volunteers every year and know that we could not launch this Festival without their dedication and support.

Volunteers donate their valuable time to help make the Gimli Film Festival a thriving environment for independent filmmakers to share their stories. Together we're creating a place and a platform for independent film to reach beyond the shores of Lake Winnipeg.

For a minimum of 12 hours of volunteer work, volunteers are provided with the following:

One GFF volunteer film pass (Volunteers are asked to please prioritize paying customers over their own entry to films)
Volunteer T-shirt (provided by Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries)
Invitation to opening and awards receptions
GFF Volunteer Room: coffee service, snacks and food during the Festival
An invitation to the volunteer windup

Skills Required: GFF provides training to all volunteers for all areas of the Festival.

There are numerous areas to volunteer at the Festival and we encourage all people of all abilities to apply.
Skills Gained/Related Careers: - Team building
- Learning about Manitoba's film industry and exposure to the best in cinema from around the world
- Understanding of a non-profit structure
- Event management and planning
- Connecting with new people and filmmakers (local and out-of-town guests)
- Learning about Gimli and the community

Age: 17 and under, 18-30, 31-54, 55+
Time Commitment: Daytime, Evening, Weekend

Volunteer shifts start in June 2019 when our GFF Box Office opens and continue throughout July for pre-event set-up, promotions, transportation of supplies, equipment and guests. We also need volunteers after the Festival for tear-down.
