Description of Duties:

Take the challenge:

Volunteers are the community drivers in every Run location in Canada. Together with a committee of like-minded individuals, you will raise funds for breast cancer research and support programs through the Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure. Planning and organizing the Run takes time, passion and creative thinking. In partnership with volunteers and staff, you will be part of something truly extraordinary in your community. Although this is a national event, local success depends on volunteers like you. With your community insight, you will raise awareness, encourage participation, and drive fundraising results.

What's Involved:

As the Volunteer Engagement Lead, you are responsible for recruiting volunteers for events leading up to the Run and on Run weekend. Working with fellow committee members, you determine how many event volunteers are needed and build a community outreach plan to engage volunteers. Through the management of your location's Run volunteer email account, driving registration of volunteers on the website, and giving updates to the committee at each meeting, you will excel in your role. On Run Day, you oversee volunteer schedules through volunteer sign-in, the distribution of t-shirts, redirecting volunteers as needed, verifying of hours, and thanking volunteers for their time and energy. Support and training on our online volunteer management software will be provided.
