Organizational Description: The Manitoba Association for Rights and Liberties promotes respect for and observance of fundamental human rights and civil liberties, and to defend, extend and foster the recognition and understanding of these rights and liberties, on a non-profit basis, in the Province of Manitoba by engaging in public education;reviewing legislation and administrative procedures and recommending changes to ensure that said legislation and procedures are consistent with the basic principles of civil liberties and human rights; and researching rights and liberties issues and making recommendations for possible action;


(iii) engaging in any other activity consistent with the general objectives and available resources of the Association.
Volunteer Opportunity Details
Description of Duties: -Engage in MARL's finance committee and related discussions with the Executive Director and Treasurer on a weekly basis if required
-Work with the Treasurer of the Board regarding any budgetary matters
-Record all receivable, payable and bank transactions, including cheques
-Prepare for approval and enter the payroll and month-end journal entries
-Reconcile the balance sheet accounts, including the bank
Skills Required: -Educational background in accounting and/or bookkeeping
-Experience using QuickBooks online
-Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
-Related experience is required
-Ability to work independently
