The Museum's collections reflect the heritage of Manitoba and other regions of the world. Our nine interpretive galleries explore the interrelationship of people and their environment. Travel through millions of years as you journey from north to south across Manitoba's vast and varied landscape, from the icy arctic coast to the windswept prairies.

The Museum is noted for its three-dimensional walk-through galleries. Highlights include the Nonsuch, a full-size 17th century sailing vessel, and the Urban Gallery, which takes you back in time to Winnipeg during the 1920%u2032s.

The Planetarium features interactive multimedia shows that recreate the current night sky, explore various hot topics in astronomy, and highlight the latest space discoveries. From imaginative children's shows to more sophisticated fare , the Planetarium shares the wonders of the universe with visitors of all ages.

Touch the universe with more than 100 entertaining hands-on exhibits in the Science Gallery. Push the limits of your imagination, put your senses to the test and explore science, technology and the world around you in an exciting, high-energy environment.
Volunteer Opportunity Details
Description of Duties: The Animal Inside Out exhibit takes visitors on an anatomical safari of more than 100 specimens. Each animal is painstakingly preserved by the remarkable process of plastination, invented by anatomist Dr. Gunther von Hagens.
From goats to giraffes and octopuses to ostriches, visitors will discover the form and function of animals both exotic and familiar. Highlights of plastinates featured in the exhibit include the world's tallest mammal, the giraffe, and the rarely seen giant squid; a magnificent bull, with a heart five times the size of a human's; and a reindeer, with hooves adapted to the changing seasons.
Biology textbooks spring to life in this unforgettable museum learning experience. This highly educational exhibition is designed for all ages and reveals an in-depth look at animals from a rarely seen perspective.
Volunteering in the Animal Inside Out exhibit at The Manitoba Museum means helping the people of Manitoba and visitors to our province engage in hands-on science learning.
