Organizational Description: Whoop & Hollar Folk Festival is a non-profit organization and annual festival in Manitoba, Canada that creates and celebrates community through music, art, and nature. By means of its year-round programming, Whoop & Hollar is focused on promoting, supporting, and expanding the unique identity of its local arts and culture scene.
Volunteer Opportunity Details
Description of Duties: ***Note: The festival will only provide a letter of reference upon request. Criminal record and Child Abuse Registry checks are recommended but not required.

CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS! August 23rd, 24th, & 25th, 2019.

If you love live music, being a part of something special, and sharing your positive energy with others, then volunteering at Whoop & Hollar is for you.

Our team is growing and we need your help to make the festival magic happen!

Available Crew Positions include (will fill-up on a first come, first served basis): Box Office/Gate Security, Volunteer/Info Tent, Musician Hospitality, First Aid, Campground, Social Media, Kitchen, Workshops, Wash Station, Floaters/Runners, Parking, Shuttles, Set-Up, Tear-Down, and Special Projects.

For 6 volunteer hours (three 2-hour shifts) worked over the weekend, you will receive: FREE weekend admission (which includes three nights of tent camping and three days of music, art, dance, food, nature, and community); at least one meal on the day you volunteer; valuable volunteer skills; an opportunity to express your creativity, connect with something you find meaningful, and make a difference in your community; the joy of giving; and a rewarding festival experience.
Skills Required: Recommended skills/attributes include: Ability to work as a team player, willingness to help out where needed, attention to detail, flexibility, experience volunteering at music festivals (not mandatory), etc.
Skills Gained/Related Careers: A variety of skills and experience depending on the position chosen/selected. Community building for sure; and certainly experience with advancing the arts and culture in Manitoba!!

Time Commitment: Daytime, Evening, Weekend
Minimum six volunteer hours (three 2-hour shifts) worked during weekend festival, August 23-25, 2019. Friday, Saturday, and/or Sunday. Any time, any day. First come, first served.
