Organizational Description: The WRHA delivers and administers health servcies in the Winnipeg region.

WRHA Volunteer Services coordinates volunteer placements in Community Health and Corporate programs as well as the Breast Health Centre and Pan Am Clinic.
Volunteer Opportunity Details
Description of Duties: The WRHA Public Health Nurses host immunization clinics in the various schools within the City. Volunteers are needed to escort students to and from the clinic area within the school, assist with crowd control, hand out consent forms, lead students through the clinic process and observe them post immunization.
Skills Required: 1) Previous experience with children is an asset
2) Ability to lead people through a process
3) Ability to understand, give direction and express oneself in English in a clear, concise manner
4) Ability to be on one's feet up to 3 hours at a time
5) Ability to work with diverse cultures and socio economic backgrounds

Time Commitment: Daytime
School Immunization clinics take place twice a year in Spring (April/June) and in Fall (September/October). During these timeframes, volunteers sign up to help at 2 to 4 clinics. The clinics take place Monday to Friday only, primarily in the mornings between 8:30am and Noon, but some clinics operate from 12:30 to 3:30pm.
