Organizational Description: We are a local group that diligently works to create a community of like-minded people who enjoy the genre of Steampunk. Our event promotes a DIY and an inclusive attitude. We create a family-friendly environment in which people of all ages can partake. We showcase the amazing local artisans, costumers, inventors, and creative minds that can be found in our great city.
Volunteer Opportunity Details
Description of Duties: -Play an acoustic instrument during the seating and serving of the High Society Tea.
-Instruments preferred: harp, violin, flute, acoustic guitar, stringed or wind instruments.
-If you are a trio, quartet, or small band that would like to perform, we are also open to have you at the High Society Tea.
Help create a friendly and welcoming atmosphere during our High Tea
Skills Required: -Must be able to play instrument competently
-Must have some experience performing in front of an audience
-Be energetic, fun loving
-Must have good people skills
-Must dress in a clean white shirt, black dress pants or skirt, and sensible footwear.
Skills Gained/Related Careers: -Develop performance experience in a safe and friendly setting
-Referrals to other events and experience for resume
-Develop ties with different artistic and event communities
-Become a part of building a fledgling event into a Winnipeg Institution
-Make a difference in your local community by participating in an event that has a mandate to embrace the Joy of Life, inclusivity, all ages learning from and with each other, creativity, positive attitudes, and a DIY environment.
Age: 18-30, 31-54, 55+
Time Commitment: Daytime
-3:30pm to 4:30pm play during Tea -15 min break -45 mins (performance, set up, take down)
