Organizational Description: We are a gardening organization that fund raises for gardening projects in Manitoba, we also run events and workshop program evenings. Our 4 goals for this year are to increase yearly profit by $10K to reinvest in community projects, to reduce our non organic waste by 15%, to increase our educational workshop attendance by 15% yearly and to have a fully functional community greenhouse by 2021
Volunteer Opportunity Details
Description of Duties: - Recruiting and coordinating volunteers for our main events
- Working closely with Event Chairs to determine volunteer requirements
- Greenhouse volunteer recruitment and schedule
- Administering the volunteer database
- Ensuring volunteer satisfaction and recognition
- Organizing an annual volunteer recognition event
- Attending Monthly Board meetings and providing summary reports
Skills Required: This position requires someone who is adaptable, personable, very organized, good at scheduling and is a team player.
The following computer skills are also important for this position.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office especially Excel
- Proficient with g-mail
- Proficient with google drive

Weekend would be events only The time commitments for this position are: - Monthly Board Meetings 2hrs (10 per year) - Volunteer Administration at events 6hrs (3 per year) - Volunteer Database update 8hrs annually
