Organizational Description: | The St. Andrews Heritage Centre was built between 1852 and 1854 as a home for the minister of St. Andrews-On-The-Red. The building is a "Hudson Bay" style of architecture and was not the average nineteenth century Red River dwelling. It was built to reflect the lifestyle and social position of the "gentlemen" of the Red River and their families. Today it is a Canadian National Historic Site that depicts the history of the people that lived in St. Andrews. The St. Andrews Heritage Centre offers visitor services including picnic seating, gift shop, family activities, and interpreters on site. Free admission. |

Volunteer Opportunity Details | |
Description of Duties: | Determining how many volunteers are needed and for what roles -Planning how to attract and recruit volunteers -Meeting with interested individuals to finalize paperwork and provide orientation -Developing and maintaining an orientation kit, and volunteer handbook -Developing and managing policies, procedures and standards for volunteers -Managing volunteer communications -Tracking volunteer hours and creating report with a volunteer database -Planning for volunteer retention and replacement -Creating reports and attending Heritage Centre Committee meetings |
Skills Required: | Must enjoy working with al types of people -Excellent organizational and team coordination abilities -The ability to communicate, supervise and empower volunteers to be effective in their roles |
