Volunteer Opportunity Details
Description of Duties: The Winnipeg Renovation Show is looking for groups or individuals interested in volunteering at our upcoming show January 10 - 12, 2020 at the RBC Convention Centre!

Volunteers will act as hosts and greeters, and provide information to the general public. Volunteers will be asked to work a minimum of 15 hours, which can be done in 5 hour shifts (potential to combine 2 shifts into one and work a full day if necessary).
- Volunteers will work collaboratively with staff to ensure the public and exhibitors are welcomed, and directed to the right information or area of the show
- Volunteers working the Help Desk will provide information to consumers/exhibitors and help them with frequently asked questions
- Volunteers greeting the public at the entrances will direct foot traffic and replenish the complimentary bags and the Show Guide magazines
- Volunteers will also provide hand stamps at the door as visitors enter
- Other duties may be required
Skills Required: - Friendly, welcoming, and respectful attitude
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Great customer service skills
- Strong English language skills
- Willing to engage with others and have fun!
Skills Gained/Related Careers: - Volunteers will gain valuable work experience in event management and networking opportunities
- Volunteers will receive an orientation and training materials prior to the event
- Parking/Transit will be reimbursed
- Meals and refreshments will be provided while on shift
- Complimentary tickets will be given to volunteers and their friends/family
- Reference letters will be provided (at your request) pending successful volunteer shift completion

Time Commitment: Daytime, Evening, Weekend
The Winnipeg Renovation Show runs January 11 - 13, 2019. Volunteers are asked to commit to a minimum of 15 hours, divided into 5 hour shifts. Show Times: January 10: Volunteers needed from 10:30 am - 9:30 pm. January 11: Volunteers needed from 9 am - 9:30 pm. January 12: Volunteers needed from 9 am - 7 pm
