Organizational Description: We are a volunteer organization that arranges a outdoor curling bonspiel on the river at The Forks in the winter time. Funds raised from the event go to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. We had 72 curling teams in 2016. Our event is the first full weekend in February. Est in 2001, we are the largest outdoor curling bonspiel in Canada.
Volunteer Opportunity Details
Description of Duties: . Develop social media campaigns that will create awareness for event.
.Monitor and manage all Ironman social media accounts.
.Help create, format and update content to promote the curling bonspiel, during the bonspiel and post activities.
. Working with Committee, charity, VIP, celebrities and sponsors to improve the bonspiel.
.Edit and update emails to curlers.
Skills Required: Access to social media, good sense of public activities. Good values and love of updating social media
Skills Gained/Related Careers: People person skills, working with a team, completion of goals. Working with the largest bonspiel in Canada. Contact through media, sponsors and Heart and Stroke Foundation. Network and new contacts.
Age: 17 and under, 18-30, 31-54, 55+
Time Commitment: Daytime, Evening, Weekend
Flexible hours. Monthly committee meetings 2 hours.
