Description of Duties: The Canadian Red Cross Society, a non-profit, humanitarian organization dedicated to helping Canadians, as well as the most vulnerable throughout the world, is seeking a Disaster Management Safety and Well-being (SWB) Supervisor.

JOB SUMMARY

The Disaster Management (DM) Safety and Wellbeing (S&W) Supervisor, under the direction of the S&W Manager, will work in collaboration with volunteers to provide safety and S&W services to beneficiaries as part of a team within the mandate of the Canadian Red Cross.

Specifically, this position will focus on:

Implementing S&W services and programs for beneficiaries
Building on the resiliency of the beneficiary population
Applying minimum standards and technical support
Communicating accurate information for knowledge sharing and referrals
Being prepared for the intensity and types of activities that may vary week by week according to the ongoing assessments and needs
Supervising S&W Responders as they support the implementation of S&W services and programs

WORKING CONDITIONS The majority of the work Field based position. Difficult and demanding working conditions are expected including the following: Due to the dynamic nature of the refugee situation there may be issues of access and mobility; Adaptable living conditions; Long hours of work in a demanding context with limited resources; Stressful rapidly changing environment with limited information to make decisions. Ability to respond during non-traditional hours (i.e. late night or weekends) and long hours of work in a demanding context
