Volunteer Opportunity Details
Description of Duties: The Social Media Administrator is a highly motivated, creative individual with experience and a passion for connecting with current and future clients. The Social Media Administrator will develop and administer OVRC social media marketing to drive traffic to our Website and services. They will be responsible for OVRC brand development, content strategy and setting clear objectives for OVRC's social media plan.
Skills Required: In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms, their respective participants (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn) and how each platform can be deployed in different scenarios

Team player with the confidence to take the lead and guide other employees when necessary (i.e. content development, creation and editing of content, and online reputation management)

Proven work experience in the field of social media

Excellent consulting, writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills

Demonstrable social networking experience and social analytics tools knowledge
Skills Gained/Related Careers: Collaborate with ED and OVRC staff to develop and execute a cohesive social media strategy that supports OVRC's business and social media objectives

Create a social media publishing schedule / content calendar, working alongside the Centre staff to identify key themes (for example, the Centre's new workshop roll-out and the Centre's objective to increase self-directed work by mid-level job seekers)

Provide advice and counsel to ED on recommended social media channels. Update and create accounts and profiles in collaboration with ED and OVRC staff

Provide input and feedback into website development (content, 'look and feel', etc.) during the development phase of the new site

Create and curate content tailored to each channel (Blog, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc., including visual / graphic content (photos, etc)

Serve as final "point of contact" for all published content to ensure messaging is on-target and relevant to social media strategy

Track and report relevant metrics (Analytics, Facebook metrics, etc) to monitor engagement success

Provide support and training to OVRC staff in best practices across the social media channels

Time Commitment: Daytime
Can be flexible with their time: We envisage a short time each week updating social media channels. The volunteer may be required to attend some of our events and workshops with a view to reporting on them.
