Description of Duties: IMPACT
Walk or Run to Quit is a partnership program between the Canadian Cancer Society and Running Room that uses walking or running to help people quit smoking. Over the course of 10 weekly sessions, participants in the training programs (virtual and in-person) receive step-by-step instructions on how to gradually increase their ability to consistently walk or run 5km plus practical quit smoking resources.

As a Program Ambassador, you will play an integral role in promoting Walk or Run to Quit widely in various communities to increase visits to the website and program registration. The Program Ambassador will focus primarily on promoting the program widely and will not be delivering the sessions.

-Work closely with the Lead Ambassador to identify key locations and channels for promotions
-Put up posters in designated communities and drop off physical materials to health care providers and businesses, especially around designated Running Room locations
-Contact and follow up with partners (including healthcare, business and community groups) to share program information and encourage further promotions through their networks
-Support online submissions to newspapers, community events pages and online forums
-Seek out opportunities to promote the program and attend Health Fairs, Community Events and lead presentations, as requested and available
-Participate in bi-monthly team phone meetings and report on activities
-Knowledge and interest in health promotion
-Knowledge and interest in marketing and communications
-Independent, self-motivated and able to take initiative
-Appropriate, timely and prompt verbal and written communication between you, staff, and community partners (one-to-one interactions, cold calls, emails, etc.)
-Ability to travel locally. Access to vehicle preferred

Time Commitment: Daytime, Evening, Weekend
Daytime is preferred but some of the volunteer work can be done in the evenings and weekends.
