Organizational Description: Prairie Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre Inc. (PWRC) is a non-profit charity organization whose main goal is to treat injured and orphaned wildlife in Manitoba and to successfully release them back into their natural habitat. To maximize survival rates and ensure integration once in the wildlife population, PWRC uses effective and state of the art rehabilitation techniques, such as integrative medical therapies, including both conventional and homeopathic medications, as well as attention to environmental enrichment techniques. The PWRC also takes an active role in public education regarding wildlife issues. We are located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
Volunteer Opportunity Details
Description of Duties: PWRC is currently looking for two individuals to serve as ongoing Board members. This non-profit charitable organization is managed by a volunteer Board of Directors who work to develop and implement strategies and plans for achieving the vision and goals of PWRC. We are currently seeking two volunteers to join this team.
At our monthly Board meetings, Directors present and discuss information and ideas that drive the direction and activities of the organization including:
Budget, financial statements, Fundraising activities and special events, Grants, Donations, Corporate sponsorships, Marketing & communications.
We are currently looking for a new member to take the lead in either grant writing or website management.
Skills Required: We are currently looking for two individuals who want to make a difference in supporting Manitoba wildlife - one to take a lead role in organizing and coordinating our annual fundraising Walk event, and a second individual to lead our grant-writing initiatives. Experience in planning and implementing plans and programs is an asset for leading our Walk event, as is previous experience collaborating with others. Experience in grant-writing would be an asset for the individual who takes on this role.

Time Commitment: Evening
The Board meets approximately every month. In addition, we ask our Board members to provide some additional volunteer time in support of our fundraising events (eg. annual Walk/Run)
