Organizational Description: | Youth participating in the program will work within a team alongside volunteer Mentors/Helpers and staff on community service/volunteer projects. Positive Alternatives for Youth (PAY) assists youth in successfully completing community service, assessing and developing their life, education, and/or employment skills and being positively involved in the community through individualized case planning/management. Youth will gain confidence and independence as they participate in community service, education/employment preparation and/or life-skill development and recreation events. |

Description of Duties: | Volunteer mentors play an important role at Macdonald Youth Services. If you are 18 or older and looking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Manitoba youth, we can help make you a model mentor! |
Skills Required: | You must be 18 or older and looking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of Manitoba youth. |
Skills Gained/Related Careers: | MYS offers volunteer mentors 14 hours of formal training to start, plus ongoing development and the support you need to be a positive role model and help guide youth who are working toward better lives and a brighter future through job skills training, education and community service projects. |
Age: | 18-30, 31-54, 55+ |
Time Commitment: | Daytime, Evening Applications for volunteer mentors are always welcome and accepted year round. |
