|Volunteer Opportunity Details|
|Description of Duties:||The Canadian Immunodeficiencies Patient Organization (CIPO) is looking for a moderator to facilitate a monthly support group for patients living with primary immunodeficiency disease.
This position requires the facilitator to:
- Encourage group participants to provide mutual assistance and emotional support to each other.
- Maintain confidentiality and respect among all participants within
- Attend and facilitate every meeting (10 a year)
This is volunteer position with a national charity for people living with a chronic illness. Any expenses incurred will be reimbursed.
|Skills Required:||- Experience in counselling, social work or peer support.
- Understanding of group dynamics and process with an emphasis
on three primary principles: confidentiality, building trust and a
working knowledge of chronic illness.
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
