Volunteer Opportunity Details | |
Description of Duties: | The WSD Adult EAL, located at 275 Portage Avenue, is looking for volunteers to assist students in class during the fall and winter of 2018/2019. Duties include leading conversational groups, reading exercises, and other English learning activities. |
Skills Required: | Experience working with students, and good command of the English language, are a requirement. Additional language(s) spoken (including Arabic, Tigrigna, Somali, or French) is an asset. |
Skills Gained/Related Careers: | EAL teacher, group facilitation skills, instructional skills, good verbal and written communication skills. |
Age: | 18-30, 31-54, 55+ |
Time Commitment: | Daytime, Evening Once a week, for a minimum of two months, starting in or after September, 2018. Our class schedules are: - 9:15 AM to 12:15 AM; - 12:45 PM to 3:45 PM; - 5:45 PM to 8:45 PM. |
