Organizational Description: Marlene Street Resource Centre (MSRC) is a United Way Member Agency located at #6-27 Marlene Street in the neighbourhood of St. Vital. The Centre is committed to community outreach and development for the surrounding population living in the Marlene Street Manitoba Housing Development. We offer programs and services for adults and their children.
Volunteer Opportunity Details
Description of Duties: We are looking for reliable, competent volunteers for our Meet & Eat program: This is a weekly community-outreach program for families.

We connect informally to all our residents over coffee/snacks and often life skill-building activities (Cooking/baking/crafts).

Ability to assist the adult program coordinator in set-up, coffee and snack preparation.

Ability to assist in childminding for ages 0- 5 in a small setting.
Skills Required: Must be attentive, reliable, patient, ability to engage in an array of fun, recreational activities.

Positive communication, conflict-resolution, time-keeping and time-management.

Good personal hygiene, pleasant and easy-going personality

Ability to lift, bend and move.
Skills Gained/Related Careers: Excellent experience for anyone needing to gain insight into working with adults and young children from a variety of backgrounds. We are particularly interested in students needing to gain experience in educational programs such as social work, ECE etc.
Age: 18-30, 31-54, 55+
Time Commitment: Daytime
Thursdays: 12:45 PM to 3:15 PM
