Organizational Description: We help to get the word out about a lost or found dogs and help get them back to their loving family. We have over 12,000 followers on our Facebook page. We have volunteers that work our Facebook page as admins plus we have staff volunteers for newsletters, fundraising etc. plus everyone goes out looking for these lost dogs. We have volunteer positions open and will be posting them soon.
Volunteer Opportunity Details
Description of Duties: We are 100% volunteer based non-profit organization. We assist in helping to reunite lost dogs with their owner in Winnipeg including all of Manitoba.

Volunteering your time to a worthy cause is one of the most rewarding experiences you can have. Not only do you get involved with your community, you meet some awesome people who share the same values and commitment as you!

The Board usually meets on the first Saturday of each month except when it's a long weekend, then it will be the following weekend but it could be during the week as well.
Skills Required: Leadership and must know Robert's Rule of Order. We are not a formal board but we implement our rulings from Robert's Rule of Order.

9.1 Subject to the written direction of the Board, the President will directly, or through an agent or employee of WLDA:

9.1.1 Plan meeting agendas for the Board Meetings and for Membership meetings;

9.1.2 Be responsible for calling Board Meetings and meetings of Members;

9.1.3 Have the responsibility for the general and active management of the affairs of WLDA.

9.1.4 Prepare and submit to the Members at each AGM the statement and report of the preceding Fiscal Year for the Members consideration and approval.

9.1.5 See that all orders and Resolutions of the Board are carried into effect.

9.1.6 Preside as President at all Board Meetings and Membership meetings.

9.1.7 Be the spokesperson for WLDA.

9.1.8 Be an ex-officio voting Member of all committees unless they are appointed as one of the two Board members of that committee. (see Section 7.5)
