Organizational Description: | We are a non-for-profit, community-based organization with ambition to assist individuals whom are 65+, to maintain there independent living status in our community. All of our programs are provided throughout the combined efforts of fee-for-service workers, Support Services staff and dedicated volunteers, whom are the pillars on which our organization is founded. |

Volunteer Opportunity Details | |
Description of Duties: | The Meals on Wheels program is a year round program in the City of Selkirk. Volunteers deliver warm nutritious meals and a smile to clients on a pre-established route and: - report to the Selkirk & District Hospital for meal pick up on time. - deliver meals promptly and efficiently. - report anything out of the ordinary to the Resource Coordinators. |
Skills Required: | -Hold a valid Manitoba Driver License with access to a reliable vehicle -Must be polite and considerate -Must be able to take direction and follow through without supervision -Knowledge of the street plan of the City of Selkirk -Enjoy helping others |
Skills Gained/Related Careers: | Volunteers work in teams of two, making this an ideal opportunity for friends, couples, families, groups and organizations. We encourage family volunteering and employer supported volunteering. Volunteers benefit from connecting with community, knowing that they are part of a great team who make a difference. |

Time Commitment: | Evening -Flexible, depending on volunteer availability. -4:30-5:30 p.m. (1 hour - shifts, 3 x per week. -Volunteers usually commit to one week (Monday, Wednesday & Friday shift) per month. |
