Organizational Description: Folklorama is the largest and longest-running multicultural festival of its kind in the world, as determined by the International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Folk Arts. Folklorama began in 1970 as a one-time celebration of Manitoba's centennial, and has since grown to an annual two-week Festival of global culture and entertainment that takes place the first two weeks in August. Partnering with diverse ethno-cultural communities, the Folklorama Festival attracts over 400,000 visits every year.

Throughout the year, Folklorama is sustained by three business divisions that were created as a result of the success of the Festival: Travel, Talent, and Teachings.
Volunteer Opportunity Details
Description of Duties: Pavilion volunteers help the Pavilions run smoothly and make our Festival successful. Your tasks would be determined by the specific Pavilion but may include working at the admissions table, setting up and tearing down the Pavilion, serving food and beverages, and providing cultural display tours.
Skills Required: You should be flexible and open to performing an assortment of duties. You will interact with a range of Pavilion guests and volunteers so good communication skills are essential. Knowledge of the Pavilion's culture is a benefit. You will be part of creating a memorable experience for Pavilion visitors.
Food Handlers and Smart Choices certificates are an asset. Please be prepared to provide this information to the Pavilion upon request.
