Winkler - It's All in the Pitch: Strategies for Volunteer Recruitment

Different people have different reasons to volunteer. Are you being strategic and making the best recruitment pitch that will resonate based on what motivates that person's demographic? Join us and learn what motivates newcomers, young and the mature demographics. Learn the five components of marketing. Combine this knowledge to learn how best to promote a volunteer opportunity to match the motivations of the particular demographic you are trying to recruit.

Facilitator:

Tracy Douglass has been involved in the non-profit sector as a volunteer, senior staff, and consultant. She has sat on boards, participated on committees and volunteered her time to help deliver programs and services within the sector.

She has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Manitoba and is certified in adult education and distance learning development. She also has over 20 years in the educational field, coordinating, developing and delivering training to both small and large audiences.

Recently, Tracy held the role of Provincial Coordinator for the volunteer-based Citizens on Patrol Program (COPP). She previously worked at Volunteer Manitoba from 2003 through to 2009, but she missed it so much she came back and is now running the training department and helping non-profits and community agencies engage volunteers for positive results.
