The Manitoba Real Estate Association Quality of Life Award
Every year in this province REALTORS® work side by side with other volunteers who donate their me, money and passion to improving the quality of life of children in Manitoba. As volunteers REALTORS® have coached kids’ soccer teams, prepared meals for the homeless and raised money for women’s shelters. Year after year we are honoured to volunteer alongside people from all walks of life who care deeply about the future of our communities and in particular work hard to improve the quality of life of children in our neighbourhoods. Whether it’s preparing breakfast programs for kids in schools, creating safe houses for children who need shelter for a night or mentoring teenagers to a successful high school graduation, we know we owe them a lot.
The MREA Quality of Life Award, created by REALTORS® in Manitoba, recognizes volunteers who are deeply committed to improving the lives of Manitoba children - our futures. This award is granted to an individual or group of individuals at the Volunteer Manitoba Annual Awards Dinner April 17th, 2012 at the Winnipeg Convention Centre. The recognition includes a $2,500 cash award to be given to the award recipient’s charity of choice.
CRITERIA
The volunteer must reside in Manitoba and the volunteering done in Manitoba. The work being recognized must have been done on a volunteer basis and not for payment. The nominee should have consistently demonstrated a passion for improving the lives of children.
Nomination Procedures
IN YOUR NOMINATION ADDRESS THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS; KEEP THE ENTIRE SUBMISSION TO 1,000 WORDS OR LESS.
- Where did the nominee volunteer and what services does the organization(s) provide?
- What type of volunteer work was done?
- How did the nominee improve the quality of life of children?
- Over what period of time was this volunteer work done?
