Every Child Deserves Every Chance

Call For Nominations

RBC Royal Bank (RBC) invites you to submit nominations for the 2012 Royal Bank RBC Local Hero Award in Manitoba.

The Award

RBC is committed to improving the health and well-being of Canadian youth. In Canada, 1.2 million youths are affected by mental illness at any given time and 1 in 6 children and adolescents will suffer from a mental illness of sufficient severity to cause significant distress and impaired functioning. RBC has established the Local Hero Award to recognize a local hero in the community who makes a significant, measurable impact by helping children have a brighter future.

The RBC Royal Bank Local Hero Award is given annually to an individual or group who demonstrate a positive role model amongst children and youth helping them to overcome barriers, challenges and obstacles that may impact their mental health and well-being. Nominations will be judged by an independent panel of judges. All nominators and candidates will be notified in writing of the judge’s decision.

The award consists of a $5,000 donation to a federally registered charity of the recipient’s choice. It will be presented by RBC Royal Bank at the Volunteer Manitoba Volunteer Awards Dinner on April 17, 2012 at the Winnipeg Convention Centre. Funding is provided by the RBC Foundation.
