for Media
Nomination Procedures
The contribution of media is vital for the recognition and promotion of volunteerism. Nominations for this award can be submitted by a media outlet or a non-profit or charitable organization who have benefitted from the efforts of Manitoba’s media. Staff or free-lancers of both print and electronic media are eligible for nomination. There are two award categories: (1) City of Winnipeg based media. (2) Manitoba Media (excluding Winnipeg).
The judges recognize that organizations vary in size and their ability to provide a very detailed nomination. Consideration will be given to the size of the media outlet along with the importance, timeliness, recognition and benefit to the volunteer organization.
The nomination information should describe the following basic information with as much other detail as possible:
- What activity project or program did this media outlet or individual promote for you?
- What was the goal?
- What specific coverage or promotion was provided by the media outlet?
- How did this coverage benefit the organization?
Any additional information in the form of clippings, audio tapes or video tapes would be useful and welcome. Materials submitted will be returned on request. Promotional activities must have occurred between February 1, 2011 and February 1, 2012.
